New York Physician Employment Contract Attorney
You've got 10 days to sign a contract that could define the next 10 years of your career.
Most physicians spend years training for their careers, yet many have only a few days to review an employment agreement that could affect their income, schedule, and future opportunities.
As a New York physician employment contract attorney, we help physicians understand exactly what they're signing before it becomes legally binding.
Whether you're accepting your first attending position, changing employers, or joining a concierge medicine practice, we'll explain your contract in plain English and identify practical negotiation opportunities.

New York Physicians: You Deserve More Than "Looks Fine to Me."
Many physicians tell us the same thing.
"I've read the contract three times, but I still don't know if it's a good deal."
That's completely normal.
Employment agreements aren't written for physicians. They're written by lawyers.
Our job is to translate the legal language into practical advice so you understand:
-
what actually matters
-
what can usually be negotiated
-
what probably isn't worth fighting over
-
what could become expensive later
Just practical advice from a physician contract review lawyer in New York who understands healthcare.
You might be thinking...Do I really need a physician contract attorney?
Honest Answers to Common Objections
“I don’t want to spend $1,000.”
→ One overlooked clause could cost you $20,000+ in lost bonuses or relocation clawbacks. Our flat-fee review protects you from expensive surprises.
“Can’t AI or ChatGPT do this for me?”
→ AI can spot words, but it can’t spot risk. We review your contract in the real-world context of New York employment law and tell you what’s missing just as much as what’s there.
“I’ll just review it myself.”
→ Your medical degree doesn’t train you to decode legal contracts. Ours does. You wouldn’t let a patient DIY a diagnosis; you shouldn’t either.

A practical, judgment-free approach—no legal lectures, just strategy
I'm a healthcare attorney who helps physicians understand what they're signing before they commit to a new employer.
Accepting a new position is exciting, but your employment agreement deserves more than a quick review. A physician contract can affect your compensation, call responsibilities, productivity expectations, restrictive covenants, malpractice obligations, and even where you can practice after your employment ends.
As a New York physician employment contract attorney, my job is to help you understand those provisions before they become legally binding. I explain your agreement in plain English, identify areas that may be negotiated, and answer your questions so you can move forward with confidence.
My clients appreciate having a lawyer who tells them what matters, what probably is not worth worrying about, and where they should focus their negotiating efforts. If a provision creates unnecessary risk, I'll explain why. If a term is common and unlikely to change, I'll tell you that too.
You have spent years building your medical career. Before you sign an agreement that could shape your next opportunity, let's make sure you understand exactly what it says and how it could affect your future.
One clause could cost you thousands—

FAQs
Is the Understand My Physician session for me?
This session is designed specifically for physicians practicing or planning to work in New York who want clear, strategic insight into their employment contract—before signing something they don’t fully understand. Whether you’re a resident reviewing your first offer, an experienced physician weighing a new opportunity, or considering a shift from hospital employment to private practice, this session gives you the legal clarity you need to make an informed decision.
I don't want to DIY my physician contract negotiation. What are my options?
We offer a Negotiation Suite, but only when it makes financial sense for you.
Every negotiation begins with our Understand My Physician Contract review. During that session, we'll identify the provisions that can realistically be improved, discuss your priorities, and determine whether attorney-led negotiations are likely to provide a meaningful return on your investment.
If we believe you'll benefit from having us negotiate on your behalf, we'll recommend our flat-fee Negotiation Suite and explain exactly what's included. If we don't believe the potential improvements justify the attorney's fees, we'll tell you that, too. Our goal is to help you make a smart financial decision, not sell you services you don't need.
If you're a good candidate for attorney-led negotiations, we'll handle the communication with the employer, negotiate the agreed-upon terms on your behalf, and work toward achieving the strongest contract possible.
The flat fee for the Negotiation Suite is $5,500 and is only offered after completing an Understand My Physician Contract session.
How do I buy the add-on service?
